Tanisha Foster, Nipsey Hussle’s firstborn child, has been under scrutiny after the rapper’s death in 2019. Foster encountered tremendous opposition from Nip’s family when she sought custody of their daughter, Emani Asghedom. Nonetheless, tales of the custody battle heightened public scrutiny of her parenting. Yet, she has been rather low-key since Nipsey’s death.
This week, she broke her silence in a series of heartbreaking messages shared on her Instagram Story. “I miss my child’s father,” she wrote. “I wish he was here to see my accomplishments.” Though Nip dated Lauren London until the day he died, Foster explained how she and Nipsey continued to have a strong bond due to their history together as parents and friends. Still, since Nip’s passing, she faced strong criticism from his fans whenever she tried to post about him on Instagram.

Foster shared a lengthy note on her Instagram Story where she addressed her relationship with Nip. “You guys are fans of my child’s father and when I post him it’s a problem,” she wrote, addressing those who’ve felt like her tributes to Nip have been a slight towards Lauren London. “It’s almost 4 years of him being gone so think [about] how I feel,” she continued. “I met him in my teens and he been my roll dog every since.”
Afterward, she explained that she spoke to Nipsey just a half hour before he died. “I spoke with him 30 min b4 his death, I was one of the last persons he spoke with,” Foster continued. “I wish I was there I would have took those bullets,” she added.
Nipsey Hussle’s Killer Sentenced
Earlier this year, a jury convicted Nipsey Hussle’s killer, Eric Holder, of first-degree murder after a judge denied his bid to reduce his sentence to manslaughter. The jury handed down a sentence of 60 years to life. Additionally, the jury found Holder guilty of two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter and two counts of assault with a firearm.
