More celebrities continue to weigh in on the fiaco between Will Smith and Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. While they’ve been calls for the Fresh prince to be banned from subsequent awards for slapping Rock, Jay-Z is of the opinion that Will Smith was in the right.
According to TMZ, a source close to the rap mogul says Jay-Z did not like the way Rock joked with Jada’s Alopecia, and justified Will Smith’s actions.
“There is only so much one can take… Both actions were incorrect but Chris didn’t need to go there,” he said.
Jay-Z isn’t the only celebrity to privately support Will. A source exclusively told The Sun: “Will has plenty of support after slap-gate, but Kevin and his family especially have been giving their advice.
“They have been friends and neighbors for years and Kevin really has his back because he knows exactly how he feels at the moment.”
The insider added: “Will is laying low at the moment with Jada and the kids but he’s got plenty of people rallying round him, it’s just disappointing such a huge moment in his career has been tainted like this, but he’ll bounce back.”
Smith won his first Oscars for his performance as ”King Richard.”
Amid calls to have Smith stripped of his award, the Philly legend put out a statement on Instagram, apologizing for his misconduct.
Though Jay-Z recently faced backlash of his own for holding his Gold Party at the Chateau Marmount, we want you to know that this entire article was an April Fool’s prank, and Jay-Z is yet to release a statement. If you feel bamboozled, you can help us prank more people by sharing this post.
